The winning numbers in the Mega Millions draw on Tuesday were 13, 37, 38, 40, and 67, and the Mega Ball was 10. The jackpot on 02/02/21 was worth an estimated $42 million with a cash option of $31 million—but did anyone win the lottery?
No players matched all five numbers and the Mega Ball in last night's draw, so nobody won the jackpot. The grand prize has rolled over to Friday's drawing when it will be worth an estimated $54 million with a cash option of $39.7 million.
While nobody won the Mega Millions jackpot, one player who purchased a ticket in Missouri matched all five numbers and won $1 million. Fifteen players matched four numbers and the Mega Ball and won $10,000 while an additional two players used the Megaplier, which was 2X in yesterday's draw, and won $20,000 each.
More than 260 players won $500 by matching four numbers, with an additional 46 players using the Megaplier to win $1,000. Nearly 800 players won $200 by matching three numbers and the Mega Ball with nearly 200 players using the Megaplier to win $400.
Hundreds and thousands of players won smaller prizes in Tuesday's Mega Millions draw. More than 35,000 players won $10 by matching either three numbers or two numbers and the Mega Ball, with approximately an additional 7,400 players winning $20 using the Megaplier.
More than 140,000 players matched one number and the Mega Ball and won $4 while an additional 30,000 players won $8 using the Megaplier.
Finally, just over 370,000 players won $2 by matching just the Mega Ball with more than 80,000 doubling their prizes to $4 with the Megaplier.
The next Mega Millions drawing will take place on Friday, February 5, at 11 p.m. ET. To take part, purchase a ticket from a licensed lottery retailer for $2 per play, with the option of adding the Megaplier to your ticket for an additional $1 per play.
Choose five numbers from 1 to 70 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 25 for the gold Mega Ball. Alternatively, select Quick Pick or Easy Pick to have the lottery terminal randomly choose your numbers. Sales cut off times vary by jurisdiction, but deadlines are usually an hour to two before the drawing.
Should you win the Mega Millions jackpot, you will have the option of choosing to receive your prize money as an annuity, which is paid out in one initial payment followed by 29 graduated annual payments, with each payment increasing by five percent.
Or, you may choose the cash option, which is a one-time payment equal to all the cash in the Mega Millions jackpot prize pool.
